RCT Palm Oil Policy

Within the Rierden Chemical & Trading (RCT) oleochemical portfolio, palm oil derivatives in the form of glycerine, fatty acids, methyl esters and other products – much of which are imported from Southeast Asia - represent a significant portion of our overall product line. We consider this is a very important product category and growth product line within the RCT product portfolio.

In line with RCT’s continued dedication to support and uphold environmental and social stewardship in our global community, we feel it is especially important to ensure a transparent and sustainable supply chain within our palm derivative network in light of continued challenges with environmental and social practices coming from palm oil cultivation in Southeast Asia and other regions around the globe.

It is the policy of RCT to responsibly source palm oil derivatives through a transparent palm oil derivative supply chain free of deforestation and respectful of the rights of all workers and communities.

All suppliers within the RCT palm oil derivative supply chain must comply with the following:

• Supplier must be formally committed to NDPE (No Deforestation, No Development on Peat, No Exploitation of the rights of local workers or communities).

• Supplier must be an active, supply chain certified and participating member of the RSPO.

• Supplier must provide annual updates to palm mill lists and be dedicated to supply chain transparency back to primary origin.

• Supplier must participate in RCT annual palm mill traceback exercises and be able to provide time-stamped documentation for all feedstock utilized for production of shipments to RCT.
