Polyethylene glycol, referred to as PEG, is a colorless liquid. It is used as a lubricant for textiles, metalworking, rubber molds, and ceramics production. It is used in pigments, water-based paints, dispersing agents, polishes, coatings, papers, food packaging, metal processing, chemical intermediates, pesticides and medicine. Polyethylene Glycol is used as an inactive ingredient in the pharmaceutical industry as a solvent, plasticizer, surfactant, in ointments and suppository base, and as a tablet and capsule lubricant.
